Fat Embolisation Syndrome

  • MRI showed punctate T2-hyperintensities with diffusion restriction and diffuse microhaemorrhages.
  • The 'starfield' pattern of restricted diffusion on DWI is characteristic of cerebral fat embolisation syndrome following long-bone fracture.
